Kito was created for the mobile app to transform a simple interaction into a playful, rewarding experience. Designed as a friendly, fluffy companion, Kito adds anticipation, surprise, and personality to the user journey while supporting the product's
gamified experience.
Character Design
The goal was to create a character users would instantly connect with.
With its rounded silhouette, oversized eyes, and soft fur, Kito was designed to feel friendly, curious, and approachable. Every detail was crafted to maximize personality while remaining clear and readable on mobile screens.

Storyboard
The animation follows a simple reward-driven narrative:
Trigger → Anticipation → Reveal → Celebration
A crowd of Kito creatures gradually fills the screen, building curiosity and tension before
a single character emerges as the hero of the moment, turning a micro-interaction into a memorable reveal.

Production Process
To create the crowd sequence, we combined simulation with handcrafted animation.
The process began with rigid body simulations using simplified proxy characters.Once the motion felt right, the proxies were replaced with fully rendered Kito models, including fur and shading. Key characters were then animated individually to add personality and direct the viewer's attention, followed by final lighting, fur simulation, and compositing.

Motion Design
Kito's animation language was built around softness and charm.
Using squash and stretch, secondary motion, soft body dynamics, and expressive eye animation, we focused on creating subtle moments that make the character feel alive and emotionally engaging.

Outcome
By combining character design, storytelling, and motion design, we transformed a functional UI interaction into a playful and memorable experience that strengthens the emotional connection between users and the product.
